RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
The parents OBVIOUSLY don't care about the health of their children . So the "200 dollar truck is dangerous" argument is basically out the window . They either don't know or don't care . Yes , he could get hurt in a crappy truck , but they allow his brother to publicly humiliate him repeatedly , and that hurts too . Yes , he would look like a fool driving around like that , but 14 million people have watched him b.utt are.ape himself with a remote .

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
Well....I'm on the fence about the situation. Sure, the truck was a piece of . But, they shouldn't have presented it to him like that. His mom was laughing, thinking it was funny. I saw what they drive, a Hummer, a Dodge Charger, and an F-350. I would have spent maybe a little more than just $200 and got something that was a little less tacky. I wouldn't have bought him something brand new......would you? He would've probably destroyed it if the thing didn't work the way he wanted it to. But at the same time, he should learn to appreciate what was given to him. Some kids would've probably killed to have something like that given to them. My parents never bought me a new car. I bought my first car, a '92 Chevy Cavalier Station Wagon. It had no heat, air, or radio and it cost me $250. It got me from point A to point B and it got great gas mileage. I was made fun of, but I didn't care. Half of the kids my age never had to work to get something that they wanted.

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
Some people on Earth cant even buy food or footwear and the rich brat is complaning about 200$ truck? In my country car pool is around 20 yo and for most people it doesnt matter what car you drive or how much you payed for it . . . Too bad the lil brat doesnt visit my effing country for a few days to be taught some manners . . if he were my son id renounce him . . and to answer the Question - yes I would be grateful for any car that id get for free ( I pay'd mine 3500$ with the money I earned when I was 20 yo) . .

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
Man, it's ridiculous how some of you say you wouldn't be grateful. If you didn't even work for a car, then you don't deserve to drive anything. Your parents already payed for 16 years of food, shelter, clothing, and I bet lots of unnecessary items, so you shouldn't EXPECT it.
And also, who even said a 200 dollar truck is dangerous? My first car was a $150 Honda Accord. Over 300,000 miles, rust all over, teens mpg. And guess what happened? Im 18 now and perfect driving record, car worked for a year and a half. So stop being greedy, and learn what life is about. You wont get 200 dollars for free when you're older.... |

I worked my butt off since I was 14 to save money for a car. I paid $3,000 for it and pay $80 a month in insurance completely by myself. I've also never been in an accident and have never been pulled over. My neighbor, on the other hand, has wrecked two cars already because her parents bought them for her. If she had to buy them herself, would she have drove as poorly? I doubt it. If Stephan had to pay that $200 dollars back to his parents for damaging the truck, would he have taken a bat to it in the first place? Probably not. Plus, I can't help but to notice that his parents seemed to know he was going to be unhappy. Why didn't they say, "Hey, we have $200 that we want to use to by you this truck, do you want to look at it before we buy it?" I don't know, perhaps they knew he wasn't going to be happy either way. Either way though, I think they all need professional intervention to get their home back to normal. |

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
I would be grateful for anything that has a set of wheels and actually works...who cares if its a crappy car as long as it could get me places. my parents don't buy anything for me unless its christmas or birthday...I have to work for what I want and when I want something I work hard

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
as odd as this may sound, I wouldnt mind having the truck. first off all, I like s10s and mini pickups. secondly, if it runs well, ill save up to paint it. it may cost a bit but its cheaper still. it may be embarrassing at first but I wouldnt care

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
it depends. I would probably be happy with any car I got. f.ex. my family owns a 4runner and I really hoped to not get a different 4runner because I wanted something different. I still got a black 4runner but it started to grow on me and I really like it now. however, I can understand someone getting upset at getting a $200 piece of junk like that.

I would LOVE it. as long as it runs, it's all good. get a job, save up to paint it and fix it up. I'd be grateful.

RE: No, I wouldn't be grateful
It reminds me of the truck in Twilight.
Bella was grateful. In her words, it was "perfect!".... However, I'd be a little scared to drive it...I like small cars...because I'm small. |
